What to do in 3 hours ... Lisbon

I had a 3 hour layover in Lisbon on my way to Barcelona. An awkward time really, but I decided to make the best of it, and took a bus to the city center. A finding? The city is designed similar to San Francisco, or is San Francisco designed similar to Lisbon?

Comparisons:

• Lisbon is built on seven hills, so is San Fran.
• Lisbon has a red 25 de Abril bridge, San Fran has red Golden Gate Bridge. (Golden Gate was finished in 1937, while 25 de Abril was built in 1966)
• Both have a tram transportation system
