Ilha de Sao Miguel is the largest island out of 9 islands in the Azores. The population of the island is 120,000. The islands have a volcanic origin, and even today we can find mountains, craters, warm waterfalls and hot springs located all through out the island.
To move from one island to another there are ferries as well as planes that connect each one.
50% of energy on the island is generated by natural energy. 5% comes from water and 45% from the hot steam in the earth.
The island's temperature around the year is generally between 10-25C, all year round.
